This intensive course is ideal for those with prior military or security experience looking to sharpen their AK platform skills, as well as motivated civilians who are serious about firearms proficiency. This three day training package is delivered the week after the Combined Firearms Course and is also part of the Five Day Civil Defence training. All three training courses can be taken as a bundle saving you €400 when booked together.

Course Outline
The AK Operator & Designated Marksman package is also part of our 3-Day/2-Night Infantry & Fieldcraft Training for Civilians.
Over three intensive range days, students will complete the AK Operator & Designated Marksman package, expending 700+ rounds across a variety of AK platforms and calibres (including the Dragunov DMR). Targets are engaged at distances up to 150m, including moving targets, with a range of optics introduced to develop the student’s Designated Marksman capability.
Range Day 1 focuses on weapon safety and AK handling fundamentals — from basic to advanced manipulation, across a variety of AK models and calibres. Students will practise static shooting from multiple positions (prone, kneeling, supported, standing and sitting), building the solid platform required for Days 2 and 3.
Range Day 2 introduces movement and dynamic shooting — engaging targets from behind cover, executing emergency and deliberate reload drills, and correcting AK-specific weapon malfunctions (stoppages). Students will also receive an introduction to team communications and buddy drills.

- AK Marksmanship Principles
- Emergency & Deliberate Magazine Changes
- Shooting from different positions (prone, kneeling, supported, standing, sitting, etc.)
- AK-specific Stoppage Drills (clearing malfunctions)

- Close Quarter Combat (CQB) & Shoulder Transitions (shooting from left & right shoulders)

Do I need my own weapon?
No — all firearms, ammunition and safety equipment are provided from the PrepYou Armoury.
What fitness level is required?
A basic level of physical fitness is recommended. The course is range-based and does not involve extended fieldcraft or overnight stays.
Is the course suitable for complete beginners?
We recommend completing our 2-Day Civil Defence Training first if you have no prior firearms experience.
Where does the course take place?
All range training is conducted at the Juliet7 Range Complex, Lozen, near Sofia, Bulgaria.
Is the course price per person?
Yes — the price of €999 is per student, based on a minimum of 4 participants and a maximum of 12.
