Our two-day CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) course equips civilian students with the essential knowledge and skills needed to navigate CBRN threats effectively and is part of our Citizen Soldier Programme. From mastering the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to learning crucial decontamination procedures, our course empowers individuals to safeguard themselves and their communities in the face of danger.
Through interactive sessions and hands-on training, participants develop a robust response toolkit, including emergency communication protocols, sheltering techniques, and evacuation procedures. Our expert instructors guide students through the Incident Command System (ICS) framework, enabling effective coordination and management during CBRN incidents. Day 1: Introduction to CBRN Threats and Basic Preparedness
Morning Session: Understanding CBRN Threats
- Introduction to CBRN: Define CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) threats.
- Overview of CBRN Agents: Discuss different types of CBRN agents, their characteristics, and effects on human health.
- Routes of Exposure: Understand how CBRN agents can enter the body through inhalation, ingestion, absorption, or injection.
- CBRN Threat Assessment: Learn methods for assessing CBRN threats and determining appropriate responses.
Day 1: Afternoon Session: Protective Measures
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Identify and demonstrate the proper use of PPE for different CBRN scenarios.
- Decontamination Procedures: Learn decontamination techniques for individuals, equipment, and facilities.
- Sheltering: Understand the importance of sheltering in place during a CBRN event and how to create a safe shelter environment.
- Emergency Communication: Discuss the importance of clear communication during a CBRN incident and how to establish effective communication channels.
Day 2: Response and Recovery
Morning Session: CBRN Incident Response
- Emergency Response Plans: Review the components of an effective CBRN emergency response plan.
- Incident Command System (ICS): Introduce the ICS framework for managing CBRN incidents and coordinating response efforts.
- Evacuation Procedures: Understand when and how to evacuate in response to a CBRN incident, including evacuation routes and assembly points.
- Medical Response: Learn basic first aid and medical treatment procedures for CBRN-related injuries and illnesses.
Day 2: Afternoon Session: Recovery and Post-Incident Management
- Recovery Operations: Discuss the steps involved in recovering from a CBRN incident, including cleanup, restoration, and reintegration.
- Psychological Support: Understand the psychological impact of CBRN incidents on individuals and communities and learn strategies for providing support.
- Public Information and Education: Explore methods for disseminating accurate information to the public during and after a CBRN incident.
- Tabletop Exercise: Participate in a tabletop exercise to apply the knowledge and skills learned throughout the course in a simulated CBRN scenario.
